What’s included in the Emotional Rollercoaster Board Game?

Game board
A striking rollercoaster track divided into four zones, with each zone representing different emotional states:

  • Green zone: calm, balanced
  • Yellow zone: sudden, quickly passing emotions
  • Blue zone: sad, tired, withdrawn state
  • Red zone: intense, hard-to-control emotional reactions

72 Zone Cards
Each zone has 18 situation cards. With questions and answer options, they help children with self-reflection and recognising possible coping strategies.

Reward token template
A motivational tool for rewarding successful self-regulating or empathetic responses.

Game rules
Clear instructions for individual, pair or small-group play, with extra tips for developmental use.

Card box, game pieces and dice templates
Practical, printable elements to complete the game set.

How does the Emotional Rollercoaster board game work?

Players move along the rollercoaster track by rolling a dice. The spaces belong to different coloured zones or task stations.
Each zone has its own deck of cards. Children draw a situation card and then choose an answer.
For answers that support self-regulation or show empathy, they receive a reward token.

The goal: travel along the track while developing emotional awareness, flexibility and self-control.

The game can end when someone reaches the finish first, or after a pre-agreed number of rounds, when you then decide on a winner.
